Full Speed Ahead

In recent days, media reports have fueled speculative rumors about the future of the Saturn brand. Let me replace those rumors with some straightforward facts. GM has invested heavily to give Saturn one of the best and freshest lineups in the industry. The strength of our new products was evident in June’s strong sales performance:
  • Total sales were up 9 percent from June 2007 and up 18 percent over May 2008 (adjusted for the number of selling days). The numbers are even more impressive

Thanks, ImSaturn members!

My last post generated some great feedback. A couple people asked about adding a smaller car to our line-up – something like the Opel Corsa that GM sells in other markets around the world. Well, you probably won’t be surprised that I’m not going to reveal our future product plans today. I can say that the idea of adding a vehicle like the Corsa to the Saturn lineup illustrates the value of our partnership with the Opel brand. Anytime you see an Opel, you are looking at a potential Saturn, and… Continue

Hi Jill,

With all the rumors going on about layoffs and brands being reviewed, sold or "killed off" some of us Saturn diehards are wondering what is going to happen to our favorite GM brand.

Personally, if Saturn was not around, I don't know if I'd stay with the GM family.

Any chance that we can get the commercials made for the Opel/Vauxhall Antara! Those spots are the best and really do show off the vehicle at its best! The thought of a European guy speaking to an American audience sounds like a homerun, plus it highlights the Saturn/Opel connection!

Hi Jill,

I don't know if this is really your member site.
I love what you have done with the company. The partnering with opel is a great idea.
I have an 03 awd I4 Vue. I do want a new 08 vue. But you don't make the 4 in AWD anymore. So I am kinda reluctent to buy a v6 awd. I love the AWD option. And can't part with that. Other companies make an AWD 4 cylinder (subaru, toyota, nissan, even ford). If GM wants to compete, they need to make a AWD 4. I would definately purchace an AWD 4 cylinder 08 vue.
GM also needs to make more vehicles available with AWD.

Hi Jill !!! I am a Sales Consultant at Saturn of Oak Lawn in
Illinois. I have met many people who have come into our
dealership and say to me," That's a Saturn?" " Saturn has
come a long way from what they use to be". I tell them that
they are correct . I tell all of my customers the following
phrase that I made up myself, that I truly believe should
be used in all Saturn advertising : " The best vehicles in the
world come from Saturn !!!"
