For 2009 the same anemic engine is offered even though this is the main complaint about the Astra. Just stick the Cobalt's engine in there!
And....................no sedan. Come on, guys.
Now I hear the new Aura has been delayed. Anyone at Saturn care to explain why?
It's the 3 door, red XR. I love the way the car drives, the way it hugs the road and even the way the engine sounds. However, one of these days I'm going to wrap it around a tree while trying to find the cup holder to put my coffee cup back. I wish I knew the person who decided putting the ONE cup holder for the front seats behind the seats, while supplying 4 cup holders in the back seats.
I read a post about the knob for adjusting incline, and it doesn't make it safer. It makes it much slower and cumbersome, that's for sure, but no safer in an accident. My husband is a cop and has seen many accidents and never has the seat incline been addressed at an accident scene, let alone the fact that a knob is a safety feature rather than the lever.
The rain sensing wipers are a pain the butt; on my Astra, they do not function the way they were intended, and I would have much rathered the intermittent feature that can be controlled by the driver. As well, a control arm that stays in position rather than popping back to home would be much easier to navigate. If the radio/air conditioner or anything else that makes noise is on, you can't hear the 'click' that indicates that the wipers are now completely off. If the wipers are on full blast, you have to push the control arm down 3 times to shut them off. And if you're not completely paying attention to the wipers (instead of the road) while doing so, and you don't hear the click, you could end up pushing that arm 5 times! Extremely aggravating.
On to the signal lights. It’s a tie between the cup holders and the signal lights for Most Major Peeve. Again, the level always returns to the same home spot. Therefore, when changing lanes (3 blinks of the “changing lane feature” is NOT long enough if you actually take the time to do it safely), if you turn the blinker completely on, the lever returns to home and you have to depress it the other way to turn it off. If you happen to hit the lever too hard, the OTHER blinker turns on, and so on and so on. I’m sure people behind me must have thought that chick in the cool little red car seems very confused.
Window controls are next. I’m coming out of a 1999 Jeep Wrangler that had NO options whatsoever. I actually had to roll the windows down all by myself, and truthfully, I prefer that to pressing a button and having the window go all the way down – especially when I only wanted it open a bit. I am not enjoying a machine thinking that it knows what I want. I’m not sure it’s the most efficient use of technology to 1. Press the button for the window to go down, then 2. Press it to stop it if you don’t want it to go down all the way, or 3. Have to tap the button in short bursts if you want the window down just a bit.
Well, that's it for now. I hope this e-mail is recieved in the way it was intended - as information from a Saturn customer to the powers that be at Saturn. Again, love the way it drives, but have major problems with the options I have to use every day. Thanks for listening.
I wrote a blog about it, in case you are interested.
Keep up the good work!

Why does the Saturn stealership have to be such a ripoff? I go in there for a key fob and they try to charge me 115$ then 20$ to program it..... Comon there is no way that thing is even close to being worth 115$
