My Astra does attract attention. All of the comments have been very positive. Most often, people ask "what is it?" The next question that comes up is "what kind of gas mileage does it get?" Out of the four times I have filled up, I have had gas mileage of; 29.5, 36.0, 37.1 and 36.5! This is a mix of city and highway driving. About 50/50. I did manual gas mileage calculations just to assure the on-board computer was correct...it was!
Here was what was important to me in my buying decision -
#1 High quality and high content. I wanted a small car with large car features.
#2 Safety. I wanted the most safety features available knowing that I was going to be driving in a state that has the highest per capita truck and SUV to cars ratio.
#3 Handling. I wanted that "glued to the pavement" feeling. Boy, does this car deliver! This is the ultimate fun to drive car!
#4 Gas mileage. I wanted to be in the mid 20's to mid 30's mpg range, city/highway respectively.
Here was a bonus that the Astra delivered - Great looks and exclusivity. I did not want a belly button car. You know, belly button...everybody has one.
I could not be more pleased with my Astra and the way the dealership handled the transaction. First class all of the way!
