Hi there guys,

Greetings from the UK (although I'm in California at the moment!) I'm the proud owner of a Vauxhall Astra and saw my first Saturn Astra in the flesh the other day.

Back in the UK we get a much better range of engines than you do over here, which is a shame for you. Mine's the top of the range 'Astra VXR' - It comes from the factory with a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine which produces 237BHP (at the flywheel) but I've had mine remapped to produce 265+BHP.

If anyone needs more information for stuff that's available from the UK/Europe for these great cars, here's a forum that I'm a member of over there. It's full of friendly and helpful Astra owners who I'm sure would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

I've finallyseen another Astra. :-)
While on a business trip to Austin a few weeks ago at a restaurant parking lot. The people I was with thought I was pretty weird. (well, actually, they probably thought that before I freaked out over the Astra. Icing on the cake, I guess.)

Anyone have problems with their dealer? I have had nothing but problems with the one in Tulsa, Ok. I have had the car for five weeks and only drove it 390 miles. I can't get the dealer to fix anything.

Thanks for the tip on the FM modulator, funny fact is that in Mexico the Astra have an MP3/CD with Aux input since Model year 2007i !!!!

Dave,

I've been using a Monster Brand FM Modulator for my iPod in my Astra for trips. Works fine for me. If I needed to, with the Advanced Audio System I can load up 6 MP3 CD's and almost have the same capacity without having to hide the iPod when I'm out of the car.

I'd rather have a GREAT Car than a car with an Aux Jack just for something I don't use everyday.

This Car is so much more Car for the Driver.

Great looking, and great driving car. But what's preventing me from buying this is the lack of an AUX input for an iPod! Seems like the Astra would win a lot of people over if this was added for '09.
